Great mystery of Nokia N73 India reveals partially

Guys should really be saving for a new Asha

Despite the fact that the real story is written again in 2008, one of the most popular news of GoMo News articles is here 'Update Nokia N73 Software'. To date never we had been able to work exactly why - especially because it is so old phone. But now thanks to Bruce Molyneux, a freelance app Designer, we believe that in part the mystery is solved. The Nokia N73 is a device based on Symbian OS. And the popular Instant Messenger WhatsApp application will run under the Symbian. But, as Molyneux explained to GoMo News, although WhatsApp should support phones Nokia S60 as the N73, in fact requires S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and more beyond (S60 3.1 +). Unfortunately the N73 is S60 3.0. So the N73 is currently not supported. Therefore the massive interest in updating the N73. If only you could upgrade it to S60 3.1, you could run WhatsApp. Joy!

What is the solution? Well, Bruce seems to be working on a solution that would allow WhatsApp run on the N73. Obviously, we will let you know if it succeeds.

Meanwhile, what can N73 owners you do? Well, the obvious solution is to change the headphones. Interestingly, WhatsApp can run on mobile phones based on the previous S40 handset Nokia (series 40) design.

Here is a list of some of them - Nokia C3-00 / C3-01 / X 2 - 00 / X 2-01 / X 3-02 / 201 / 300 / 302 / 303 / 306 / 311. If you get one of these go to the page of download WhatsApp Series 40 here.

Another option would be to upgrade from a phone of Nokia Nokia S60 3rd edition to something a little more modern. As Symbian 5th Edition, Symbian ^ 3, Symbian Anna, or device Symbian Belle.

Don't fall into parody update for the Nokia N97. We have already covered here.  It is fake, OK?

What GoMo News actually recommended is that N73 users consider switching to one of the new Asha models Nokia announced last week [October 2013].

The new models are the 500, 502 and 503 which are all real successors to the 501 Asha. Anyway, in the new release of the model, Nokia trumpeted how many of its handset users love WhatsApp.

Apparently, WhatsApp daily registered 250,000 users through mobile phones Nokia - add to around 350 million active users Whatsapp around the globe.

Our Indian correspondent, Asif Shaikh, had already outlined some of the possibilities for Nokia update here.

Suggest our Indian readers visit the web site Mysmartprice (where he works Asif) here for the latest deals on Nokia phones that you can run WhatsApp.
